CABLES

ROBCAD CABLES simulates the problems, such as unwanted contacts, caused by the use of different cables in robotic applications : electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic command cable.

ROBCAD defines cables as special components that respond to common physics. They look like a long tube, attached at both ends to cells elements.

When these elements move, the new cables coordinates are calculated and follow the movement. Gravity and contacts with other components of the cell do modify the cable's shape.

The user only has to define some cable parameters, length, radius, weight and flexibility.

Length and radius define the size of the cable, while weight and flexibility modify the influence of gravity, and internal tensions.
Using this tool allows better knowledge of cable interferences, thus permits better planning of the working environment.
